MIAMI, July 8 (UPI) -- Hanley Ramirez hit a two-run homer and singled in the go-ahead run in the third Friday in leading the Florida Marlins to a 6-3 victory over Houston.
The Marlins have won three in a row and seven out of 10 after a stretch during which they had just three victories in 26 games.
Florida fell behind by two before coming to bat in the first, but Ramirez tied it in the bottom half of the inning with a two-run blast. He put the Marlins in front in the third and eventually went 3-for-3.
Javier Vazquez (5-8) earned the victory by giving up two runs on six hits over seven innings. Jordan Lyles (0-4) remained in search of his first major league victory, having allowed five runs in six frames.
Lyles made the eighth start of his rookie season.
