SAN FRANCISCO, July 7 (UPI) -- Nate Schierholtz led off the bottom of the 14th Wednesday with his second home run of the game, giving the San Francisco Giants a 6-5 win over San Diego.
Schierholtz, who had a two-run home run in the fourth inning, hit a towering shot off Pat Neshek (1-1) that bounded off the top of the right-field wall and into McCovey Cove for his sixth homer of the season.
It was the 10th walk-off victory for the Giants this season.
Javier Lopez (4-1) collected the win with two perfect innings. The San Francisco bullpen allowed just two hits and two walks in eight innings of shutout relief.
San Diego jumped to a lead in the first on Ryan Ludwick's two-run double. The Giants answered with a run in the bottom of the inning but the Padres added single runs in the third and fourth with Chase Headley and Jesus Guzman getting the RBI to go up 4-1.
Schierholtz pulled San Francisco within 4-3 with his first home run of the game. Rob Johnson's RBI single in the sixth put San Diego ahead 5-3 but Pablo Sandoval tied the score with a two-run double with one out in the eighth.
