BOSTON, July 6 (UPI) -- Jacoby Ellsbury had his second and third RBI of the game during a four-run fourth inning Wednesday that lifted the Boston Red Sox to a 6-4 win over Toronto.

Ellsbury led off the first inning with a homer and doubled home two more to wrap up the big fourth frame that gave the Red Sox a 6-3 lead.

Tim Wakefield (5-3) protected the advantage, striking out seven over seven innings while giving up three runs on nine hits. It was the 198th win of Wakefield's career.

Jonathan Papelbon surrendered a two-out, RBI single to Yunel Escobar in the ninth but then struck out Eric Thames to grab his 19th save of the season.

Boston won for the sixth time in seven games, getting a solo homer from Kevin Youkilis among his three hits.

The loss went to Ricky Romero (7-8), who was pounded for six runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings.
