STANFORD, Calif., July 6 (UPI) -- Stanford University announced Wednesday Johnny Dawkins had signed a two-year contract extension as the school's basketball coach.
Dawkins -- whose Stanford teams have gone 49-48 during the three seasons -- is committed through the 2015-16 season.

"I am thrilled to extend my affiliation with Stanford University," Dawkins said. "Not only am I excited about the future of our basketball program, but proud to be part of a world-renowned university and athletic department."
Dawkins was a player and assistant coach under Hall of Famer Mike Krzyzewski during an 11-year stay at Duke University.
Stanford had a 15-16 campaign last season, during which the team did not have a senior on its roster.
