DENVER, July 3 (UPI) -- Mark Ellis went 3-for-5 and drove in two runs during a big second inning Saturday, powering the Colorado Rockies to a 9-6 win over Kansas City.

Ty Wigginton and Chris Iannetta (3-for-3) had given the Rockies a 3-0 lead with RBI hits in the second when Ellis came up and sliced a line drive into the right center-field gap, scoring Iannetta and Charlie Blackmon.

Todd Helton (two RBI) hit a sacrifice fly and Troy Tulowitzki (2-for-5, solo homer) added an RBI single to finish up the six-run outburst, which carried the Rockies to their second straight interleague win over the Royals.

Greg Reynolds (3-0) was recalled from Class AAA Colorado Springs to make a spot start for the injured Jhoulys Chacin and responded by giving up five runs on eight hits in five innings.

Huston Street picked up his 24th save in the ninth for the Rockies.

Kansas City's Kyle Davies (1-7) was tagged with a loss in his sixth straight start, allowing seven runs (four earned) on eight hits in only three innings.

Alex Gordon went 4-for-5 with a solo homer and Wilson Betemit added a pinch-hit, three-run shot for the Royals.
