MLB: Philadelphia 7 Toronto 6

TORONTO, July 1 (UPI) -- A two-run single in the ninth by Ryan Howard lifted Philadelphia to a 7-6 victory Friday over the Toronto Blue Jays, the Phillies' fourth win in five games.

Howard got the hit off Frank Francisco (1-4), who took the loss. The Jays have lost four of their last five.

Shane Victorino and Ben Francisco each drove in two runs and Carlos Ruiz added an RBI for Philadelphia.

Danys Baez (2-3) got the win, contributing a scoreless eighth inning in relief. Antonio Bastardo finished and picked up his fourth save.

Eric Thames and Jose Bautista hit two-run home runs and Edwin Encarnacion had a two-run double for Toronto.
