
CHICAGO, July 1 (UPI) -- The Chicago White Sox got a two-run homer from Alexei Ramirez and a two-run double from Juan Pierre Friday in a 6-4 win over the Chicago Cubs.
Ramirez and Pierre struck during the seventh inning to bring the White Sox back from a 4-2 deficit in the opener of a three-game interleague series.
White Sox starter Edwin Jackson (5-6) went six innings, allowing four runs on five hits and one walk for his first win in six starts dating back t6o May 22.
Brian Bruney, Jesse Crain and Sergio Santos each pitched a scoreless inning in relief and Santos picked up his 18th save for the White Sox.
Cubs starter Randy Wells (1-3) went 6 1/3 innings, giving up six runs on eight hits and two walks, and striking out four, before being roughed up in the seventh. Wells is 0-3 in seven starts since coming off the disabled list in late May.
Aramis Ramirez hit a solo home run for the Cubs -- his 300th career homer -- and drove in two runs.
