MLB: Florida 5, Oakland 4

OAKLAND, Calif., June 30 (UPI) -- John Buck's two-run double highlighted a four-run fifth inning Thursday and the Florida Marlins beat Oakland 5-4 to clinch their first series win in June.

Chris Volstad (4-7) went seven innings, allowing one run on seven hits with one walk and no strikeouts. Hanley Ramirez had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs for the Marlins, who went 5-23 in June.

Leo Nunez earned his 22nd save despite serving up a two-run homer to Kurt Suzuki in the ninth.

A's starter Trevor Cahill (8-6) took the loss after allowing five runs -- four earned -- on nine hits, with three walks and three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

Oakland lost for the sixth time in eight games.
