NASHVILLE, June 29 (UPI) -- Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt surrendered to police Wednesday on charges of making false statements on driver's license applications.

Nashville Metro Police spokeswoman Kris Munford told The (Nashville) Tennessean the receiver turned himself in connection with the misdemeanor warrants.

Munford said Britt was charged, fingerprinted, booked and released, and has a court date of July 18.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol took out the warrants on Britt after he allegedly made inaccurate statements on driver's license applications on two separate occasions, The Tennessean reported.

The Titans' 2009 first-round draft choice out of Rutgers was arrested in Hoboken, N.J., this month on charges of resisting arrest, tampering and obstruction -- charges that have since been downgraded to "disorderly persons" counts of resisting arrest and hindering prosecution. It was Britt's fifth brush with the law since October, The (Newark, N.J.) Star-Ledger reported.
