CHICAGO, June 29 (UPI) -- Barry Zito came off the disabled list to hurl seven strong innings Tuesday and the San Francisco Giants downed the Chicago Cubs 6-3 in Game 2 of a doubleheader.

Zito (1-1) spent 10 weeks on the DL with a foot injury but showed few signs of rust against the Cubs, holding them to two runs on four hits while walking two and fanning three.

The first-place Giants beat the Cubs 13-7 in Tuesday's first game. The doubleheader sweep handed them their season-best seventh straight win.

Brian Wilson notched his 24th save in the ninth for San Francisco, which erupted for five runs in the fifth inning to break the game open, highlighted by Brandon Crawford's two-run double.

Nate Schierholtz went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI for the Giants.

Chicago starter Rodrigo Lopez (0-2) was victimized by center fielder Reed Johnson's fifth-inning error, which led to three unearned runs. Lopez yielded eight hits over 4 2/3 innings.

Lou Montanez belted a two-run homer and Aramis Ramirez added a solo shot for the Cubs.
