MINNEAPOLIS, June 29 (UPI) -- Luke Hughes smacked a tie-breaking two-run homer in the fifth inning Tuesday and Minnesota held on for a 6-4 interleague win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Dodgers had wiped out a 4-1 Twins lead with a three-run top of the fifth, thanks to Aaron Miles' solo homer and a two-run single by Andre Ethier. But the Twins came right back in the bottom of the frame to regain the lead.

Danny Valencia stroked a two-out single and Hughes followed by clubbing a pitch from Ted Lilly (5-8) into the left-field stands and the Twins went on to break a six-game losing streak.

The blow made a winner of Minnesota starter Brain Duensing (5-7), who earned the victory despite allowing four runs on four hits over five innings.

Alex Burnett, Glen Perkins and Joe Nathan combined for two innings of scoreless relief and Matt Capps collected his 12th save for the Twins, who evened their three-game set with the Dodgers at one win apiece.

Lilly was roughed up for six runs on nine hits over 4 2/3 frames.
