Sorenson awarded Road America victory

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., June 26 (UPI) -- Reed Sorenson came away with his first Nationwide Series win in nearly four years after a confusing finish at Road America in Wisconsin.

The race featured three green-white-checkered attempts due to multiple wrecks in the closing laps.

Justin Allgaier was leading on the final lap, but a caution flag came out and he ran out of fuel, stalling on the road course.

Ron Fellows then passed Sorenson and looked to have the victory, but a post-race NASCAR review determined Fellows moved ahead of Sorenson when the yellow flag was in sight.

Thus Sorenson got the win -- his first since July 2007 at Gateway International Raceway.

Fellows was awarded second, Jacques Villeneuve placed third while Elliott Sadler and Mike Wallace rounded out the Top 5 finishers.
