ST. LOUIS, June 26 (UPI) -- Juan Rivera capped a big third inning with a three-run homer Saturday, boosting the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-3 interleague victory over St. Louis.
Adam Lind's sacrifice fly in the third drew the Blue Jays even at 1-1. The go-ahead run scored on an error by Cardinals shortstop Ryan Theriot on J.P. Arencibia's grounder before Rivera smacked his three-run shot.
Edwin Encarnacion added a solo homer for the Blue Jays, who clinched their three-game set against St. Louis.
Carlos Villanueva (5-1) collected the win. The right-hander allowed a pair of runs on five hits over six innings, walking one and fanning three.
Cards starter Jaime Garcia (6-3) was victimized by four unearned runs. He yielded five hits and four walks through seven frames for St. Louis, which lost for the fourth time in five games.
Yadier Molina got the only RBI for the Cardinals.
