PITTSBURGH, June 25 (UPI) -- Lyle Overbay blasted a go-ahead, three-run homer Saturday and the Pittsburgh Pirates took their second straight interleague win over Boston, 6-4.
Overbay's clout in the fourth inning erased a 2-0 Red Sox lead and pitcher Jeff Karstens added an RBI single later in the frame, helping the Pirates clinch their three-game series from Boston.
Garrett Jones added a solo homer among his two hits for Pittsburgh, which won its fourth straight and moved two games over .500 (39-37) -- the latest in a season the Pirates have owned a winning record since 1999.
Karstens (5-4) lasted 6 2/3 innings, yielding four runs (three earned) on six hits. Four relievers teamed up for 1 1/3 scoreless frames and Joel Hanrahan notched his 22nd save in the ninth.
Boston's Tim Wakefield (4-3) was touched for five runs on seven hits in a six-inning start.
Jacoby Ellsbury, Adrian Gonzalez and Josh Reddick all belted solo homers in the Red Sox loss.
