NEW YORK, June 24 (UPI) -- Ubaldo Jimenez struck out seven over seven innings Friday to hand the Colorado Rockies their seventh win in nine games, a 4-2 triumph over the New York Yankees.
Jimenez (3-7) gave up two runs on four hits before giving way to Matt Reynolds in the eighth inning. Reynolds worked a perfect inning and Huston Street survived a one-out single and two long fly balls in the ninth to collect his 23rd save.
Former-Yankee Jason Giambi homered in the second and put Colorado in front for good when he scored in the fourth on a ground out by Ty Wigginton.
Troy Tulowitzki added a homer in the fifth to close out the scoring.
A.J. Burnett (7-6) gave up all four runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings to take the loss. It was his third setback in four starts.
New York lost for only the third time in 10 games.
