Huston, Wiebe tied on Champions Tour

ENDICOTT, N.Y., June 24 (UPI) -- John Huston, playing his third tournament on the Champions Tour, shot a 7-under 65 Friday that gave him a share of the lead at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.

Huston was tied with Mark Wiebe, who won his third Champions Tour title two weeks ago.

Huston, who turned 50 June 1, is seeking his first win of any kind since capturing an event on the regular tour in 2003. He finished 15th and 16th in his two previous starts on the Champions circuit.

Ronnie Black and Nick Price were tied for third at 66. Black is seeking his first victory in his fourth year on the tour. Price is a four-time winner.

Those tied for fifth at 67 were Steve Lowery, Hal Sutton, Peter Jacobsen and John Cook.

Neither Huston nor Wiebe made a bogey Friday at the En-Joie Golf Club course. Huston's score equaled his lowest on the tour and included birdies on three of the four par-3 holes.

Ken Green, who lost a leg in a horrific automobile accident last year, shot a 74. That tied his best score in the limited action he has seen since the accident.
