PITTSBURGH, June 23 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh Penguins owners Mario Lemieux says he's spoken with Jaromir Jagr about the possibility of bringing the star right winger back to the NHL.

Jagr, 39, who starred with Lemieux on the Penguins' 1991 and '92 Stanley Cup teams, has spent the past three seasons playing in Russia but is considering returning to the NHL, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Thursday.

Jagr's agent, Petr Svoboda, confirmed that Lemieux and his client had spoken.

"I think it went well," Svoboda said of the conversation. "They know each other well."

Svoboda said he would meet with his client before traveling from the Czech Republic to Minnesota, site of this weekend's NHL draft.
