ARLINGTON, Texas, June 22 (UPI) -- Matt Downs hit a two-run homer to finish off a four-run, ninth-inning rally Wednesday that gave the Houston Astros a 5-3 victory over Texas.
The Astros ended a three-game skid by roughing up Texas closer Neftali Feliz (0-1). He came on to protect a 3-1 lead and gave up a leadoff double to Carlos Lee, who scored one out later on a double by Chris Johnson.
A single by Jason Michaels sent Johnson to third, and he then scored on a passed ball. Downs came on as a pinch-hitter and drove a 3-1 pitch over the wall in left.
It was the fourth blown save of the campaign for Feliz, last season's American League rookie of the year.
Mark Melancon, who gave up a run in the eighth, stayed on for his second inning of relief in the ninth and was rewarded with a win that improved his record to 5-1.
