
SEATTLE, June 18 (UPI) -- Brendan Ryan twice drove in Ichiro Suzuki Friday, Miguel Olivo homered and Seattle ended Philadelphia's winning streak at seven with a 4-2 victory.
Seattle took the lead in the interleague contest for good when Ryan tripled home Suzuki in the third. Olivo added his solo homer in the fourth, Justin Smoak's sacrifice fly delivered Suzuki in the fifth and Suzuki scored again in the seventh on a Ryan single.
Three pitchers made the lead stand up with starter Michael Pineda (7-4) getting the win. He held the Phillies to a run on two hits in six innings with five strikeouts. Aaron Laffey allowed a run in two relief innings and Brandon League came on in the ninth for his 20th save, most in the American League.
League allowed a pair of two-out singles before getting Domonic Brown on a grounder to end the game.
Roy Oswald (4-5) was saddled with the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits in 6 1/3.
