ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 17 (UPI) -- Sean Rodriguez had a two-run homer and a two-run double Friday in lifting Tampa Bay to a 5-1 interleague victory over Florida.

The Marlins suffered their eighth straight loss with their only run coming on a fifth-inning homer by John Buck. Florida has been held to one run or less five times during the losing streak.

Rodriguez hit his third homer of the season in the second inning off Brad Hand (0-3). Kelly Shoppach added a solo shot in the fifth for the Rays and Rodriguez tacked on a ground-rule double in the eighth that brought home Matt Joyce and Evan Longoria.

Wade Davis (6-5) limited the Marlins to a run on six hits in six innings to get the win. The Rays had lost their previous two games.
