EASTBOURNE, England, June 16 (UPI) -- Samantha Stosur claimed a win Thursday against top-seeded Vera Zvonareva and moved into the semifinals of the Aegon International tennis tournament in England.

Stosur, No. 10 in the world and seeded seventh this week, came from behind for a 4-6, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 decision over the world No. 3 Zvonareva. Stosur ran her personal winning streak against Zvonareva to seven with the victory.

Each played dropped serve three times, but Stosur finished off two breaks in the third set in taking the quarterfinal win.

Daniela Hantuchova defeated Venus Williams for the first time in her career with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 decision. Hantuchova lost her first 10 matches versus Williams but converted 6-of-9 break-point opportunities in ending Williams' first appearance since the Australian Open in January.

Fifth-seeded Petra Kvitova also went three sets before getting by Agnieszka Radwanska 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) and fifth-seeded Marion Bartoli advanced when No. 3-seeded Victoria Azarenka retired with an injury. Bartoli led 6-2, 2-0 at the time.

Stosur will face Bartoli in Friday's semifinals. Stosur has won two of the three times they've played. Kvitova defeated Hantuchova in a Fed Cup match early this year in the only previous match between the other semifinalists.
