WASHINGTON, June 16 (UPI) -- Danny Espinosa hit the seventh homer of the game in the 10th inning Thursday, a three-run shot that gave Washington a 7-4 win over St. Louis.

The Nationals extended their season-long winning streak to six games and St. Louis suffered its sixth setback in a row.

St. Louis faced a 4-2 deficit heading into the eighth, but Albert Pujols hit a solo homer in that inning and Yadier Molina tied it with another one in the ninth.

Fernando Salas (3-1) came out for his second inning of work in the bottom of the 10th and gave up a lead-off single to Ryan Zimmerman. After Laynce Nix struck out, Salas hit Michael Morse with a pitch and that brought up Espinosa. He sent a 2-1 pitch over the wall in right to end the game.

Espinosa also had an RBI single in the fourth, delivering one of just two runs that were not produced by homers.

Jayson Werth, Roger Bernadina and Nix all hit solo shots for the Nationals. Matt Holliday also homered for the Cardinals.

Holliday was activated from the 15-day disabled list Thursday after missing time with a quadriceps injury. He came into the game with a .342 batting average.
