NEW YORK, June 16 (UPI) -- Brett Gardner singled in Curtis Granderson with one out in the 12th inning Thursday, giving the New York Yankees a 3-2 win over the Texas Rangers.
Granderson led off the 12th with a single off Michael Kirkman (1-1). After an out, Robinson Cano was hit by a pitch, pushing Granderson to second.
Gardner sent a sharp ground through the right side and Granderson scored easily.
That handed the win to Cory Wade (1-0), who pitched two innings of no-hit relief.
The Yankees opened the scoring with a Russell Martin base hit that drove in Cano in the second.
Texas grabbed a 2-1 lead in the fifth with Ian Kinsler doubling in one run and Endy Chavez scoring the other when New York starter Brian Gordon hit Andre Beltran with a pitch with the bases loaded.
The Yankees tied the score the next inning with an RBI double by Jorge Posada that drove in Cano.
