DETROIT, June 16 (UPI) -- Jhonny Peralta and Ryan Raburn broke a tie with back-to-back home runs Thursday and the Detroit Tigers beat the Cleveland Indians 6-2.

After the teams traded 2-run rallies in the first inning, Peralta and Raburn each connected for solo home runs in almost the same spot over the left-field fence in the fourth to give Mitch Talbot (2-4) the loss.

Talbot lasted just 4-plus innings, giving up six runs on nine hits.

Max Scherzer improved to 9-2 with the win after 5 2/3-innings in which he allowed four hits and two runs.

Both the runs and three of the hits came in the Cleveland first. Michael Brantley tripled with two outs and scored on a throwing error. Asdrubal Cabrera doubled and Shin-Soo Choo followed with a triple that made the score 2-0.

Detroit answered in the bottom of the inning with Don Kelly singling in Austin Jackson, who had walked and stole second. Two more singles loaded the bases and Kelly scored on a sacrifice fly.

After taking the lead in the fourth, the Tigers added two runs in the sixth with Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez chipping in RBI singles.
