MINNEAPOLIS, June 15 (UPI) -- Carl Pavano outdueled Gavin Floyd in a pair of complete-game efforts Wednesday in boosting Minnesota to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
The Twins, trying to climb their way back from a rugged start to the season, won their third straight and captured their 10th in 12 games.
Pavano (4-5) allowed a run on six hits while striking out five. It was his second complete game of the season and his 16th in a 13-year career.
Minnesota scored three times in the third against Floyd (6-6) and held on from there.
Ben Revere doubled with one out and scored on a single by Alexi Casilla. Michael Cuddyer then drew a walk and the runners successfully executed a double steal.
Delmon Young followed with a two-run single.
Cuddyer also scored in the eighth on a double by Danny Valencia.
