DENVER, June 15 (UPI) -- Ryan Spilborghs' two-run, pinch-hit single capped a big sixth inning Wednesday that propelled the Colorado Rockies to a 6-3 victory over San Diego.
The Rockies broke open a 1-1 game with a five-run uprising in the sixth, sending 10 men to the plate, and went on to take the rubber match of a three-game set with Padres.
Seth Smith notched the first RBI of the inning off Padres starter Mat Latos (4-8), and Ty Wigginton and Charlie Blackmon (3-for-4) followed with run-scoring singles off reliever Chad Qualls.
After Jose Morales loaded with bases with another hit, Spilborghs delivered a two-run single for the Rockies, who improved to 4-3 on a season-high, 10-game homestand.
Jhoulys Chacin (8-4) threw six innings of one-run ball, allowing three hits and two walks. He struck out seven in the victory.
Latos finished by allowing four runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings.
