MLB: Washington 8, St. Louis 6

WASHINGTON, June 14 (UPI) -- Laynce Nix forced in the go-ahead run with a bases-loaded walk during a seventh-inning rally Monday, handing Washington an 8-6 comeback win over St. Louis.

Trailing 6-2 entering the inning, the Nationals scored six times to wrest control of the contest, banging out five hits while sending 12 men to the plate.

Ryan Zimmerman doubled home a run and Michael Morse added an RBI groundout off Miguel Batista (3-2) before Danny Espinoza's single chased home Zimmerman to make it 6-5.

One out later, Trever Miller entered the game, hit Roger Bernadina with a pitch to load the bases and then uncorked a wild pitch, allowing the Nats to tie it up.

Ivan Rodriguez was intentionally walked to reload the bases and Jason Motte entered the game only to walk Nix, forcing in the go-ahead run. Jayson Werth then capped the rally with an RBI single.

Henry Rodriguez (2-1) earned the victory with a scoreless top of the seventh inning and Drew Storen notched his 16th save despite putting the tying runs on base in the ninth.

Albert Pujols and Lance Berkman each cracked two-run homers for the Cardinals.
