
DETROIT, June 12 (UPI) -- Miguel Olivo cracked a pair of homers and Felix Hernandez won his seventh game Sunday, boosting Seattle to a 7-3 victory over Detroit.
Olivo's solo shot in the fifth narrowed the Mariners' deficit to 2-1, and his two-run clout in the eighth gave Seattle a 5-2 advantage.
Justin Smoak also hit a two-run blast and added an RBI single during a go-ahead, three-run fifth for the M's, who split a four-game series with the Tigers.
Hernandez (7-5) surrendered three runs on nine hits over eight innings, surviving five walks while raising his American League-leading strikeout total to 103 by fanning six Tigers.
Detroit starter Rick Porcello (6-4) was tagged for three runs on six hits in a seven-inning effort.
Alex Avila drove in two runs with a first-inning single in the Tigers' loss.
