EASTBOURNE, England, June 12 (UPI) -- The start of the men's and women's grass-court tennis tournament in Eastbourne, England, was delayed by rain Sunday.

The tournament was to have begun Sunday with first-round men's play.

Play will resume Monday with U.S. tennis star Venus Williams going against rising German Andrea Petkovic.

Williams is returning to competitive tennis in her first match since retiring to Petkovic at the Australian Open in January.
