Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

'S-HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands, June 12 (UPI) -- Fourth-seeded Ivan Dodig of Croatia advanced but No. 8 Daniel Gimeno-Traver lost Sunday in the first round of the UNICEF Open in the Netherlands.
Dodig moved on to the second round of the Wimbledon grass-court tuneup with a 6-4, 7-5 decision over Romania's Victor Hanescu.
The Croat will next face Andreas Haider-Maurer of Austria, who outlasted Slovenian Blaz Kavcic with a 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4 win in another opening day match.
Gimeno-Traver, meanwhile, fell to Spanish wildcard Javier Marti, who posted a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) victory.
