Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

HOUSTON, June 11 (UPI) -- Heath Pearce's own-goal in the 55th minute Saturday allowed the Houston Dynamo to break their seven-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Chivas USA.
The game-winner was a lucky break for Houston. A corner kick by the Dynamo's Brad Davis was cleared by Chivas defender Michael Lahoud right onto teammate Pearce. The ball bounced off him and into the net, breaking a 1-1 tie.
Houston (4-5-6) had pulled even in the 28th minute when Geoff Cameron skipped a Davis free kick inside the left post with his back to the goal.
Marcos Mondaini got the only score for Chivas (4-5-5) when he boomed a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner in the 7th minute.
