CHICAGO, June 11 (UPI) -- John Danks threw 7 2/3 strong innings and Brent Lillibridge made a game-saving catch Saturday, boosting the Chicago White Sox past Oakland 3-2.
Danks (2-8) held the A's to two runs on four hits and two walks. He struck out four en route to his second straight win after starting the season 0-8 and led the Chisox to their second win in three games against the A's.
With the Chicago clinging to a 3-2 lead in the eighth, Daric Barton hit a lead-off single and one out later Coco Crisp bashed a pitch deep to left.
Lillibridge leaped and brought the ball back from over the wall, preserving Chicago's lead and denying Crisp his 1,000th career hit.
Ramon Castro hit a solo homer in Chicago's victory.
Oakland starter Gio Gonzalez (5-5) saw his winless streak stretch to five starts, surrendering three runs (two earned) on five hits in a 5 1/3-inning effort for the A's, who lost for the 11th time in 12 games.
Hidecki Matsui and Josh Willingham drove in Oakland's runs.
