
CHICAGO, June 9 (UPI) -- Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko each had a two-run homer Thursday and the Chicago White Sox piled up 15 hits in rolling over Oakland 9-4.
The Athletics, who changed managers earlier in the day, lost their 10th straight game.
Bob Geren became a victim of the Oakland losing streak when he was fired as manager. Bob Melvin took over on an interim basis.
Chicago took control with three runs in both the second and third innings to grab a 6-1 lead. Alexei Ramirez had an RBI in both frames and Dunn hit his home run in the third.
Konerko's homer, his 15th, finished off a three-run eighth.
Mark Buehrle (6-4) grabbed the win, allowing three runs on seven hits in seven innings with four strikeouts.
Trevor Cahill (6-4) surrendered six runs on eight hits in just 2 2/3 innings to take the loss. Cahill is winless in his last six starts.
