CHICAGO, June 8 (UPI) -- Chicago White Sox right-hander Jake Peavy went back on the disabled list Wednesday, this time with a strained right groin, the team said.
The move is retroactive to June 6.
Peavy's injury became apparent Sunday after he yielded six runs in the fourth inning to Detroit. The former Cy Young Award winner was perfect through three innings up to that point.
The injury came in his fifth start since coming off the disabled list after recovering from a torn right latissimus.
Peavy is 2-0 with a 3.24 earned run average and 16 strikeouts.
Chicago recalled pitcher Lucas Harrell from Class AAA Charlotte to take Peavy's place on the big-league roster. Harrell coughed up four runs on nine hits in four innings of relief in one game for the White Sox earlier in the season.
