BOSTON, June 5 (UPI) -- Carl Crawford cracked a three-run homer Sunday and the Boston Red Sox completed a three-game sweep of Oakland with a 6-3 victory.
The Bosox took the lead for good in the second inning when David Ortiz and Jed Lowrie led off with singles and Crawford sent the first pitch from Brett Anderson (3-6) into the right-field bullpen for a 3-0 advantage.
Adrian Gonzalez added a two-run shot and Dustin Pedroia chipped in with two hits and an RBI for Boston.
John Lackey (3-5) returned from the disabled list with a right elbow strain and picked up the win in his first start since May 11. The right-hander held the A's to three runs on three hits over 5 2/3 innings, issuing a pair of walks and striking out two.
Three Boston relievers combined for 2 1/3 scoreless frames and Daniel Bard picked up his first save of the season.
Anderson was touched for five runs on nine hits over five frames as Oakland's losing skid hit six games.
Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a solo homer for the Athletics.
