DUBLIN, Ohio, June 4 (UPI) -- Steve Stricker carded two eagles en route to a 3-under 69 Saturday, maintaining a three-stroke lead after three rounds of the Memorial Tournament in Ohio.

Stricker eagled two of the first five holes and went on to finish at 12-under 204 through 54 holes and held the momentum heading into Sunday's final round.

His lead could have been greater, but he closed with two bogeys in the final four holes.

Stricker, who has never won a major title, has racked up six finishes in the Top 13 this season, including four straight coming into the Memorial.

Jonathan Byrd, seeking his sixth PGA Tour win, grabbed sole possession of second place, birdying the last hole to end at 9-under 207. Byrd registered four birdies and a bogey in a round of 3-under 69.

Sharing third place at 8-under 208 were Matt Kuchar (68) and Brandt Jobe (69), while Mark Wilson (66), Shaun Micheel (67) and first-round leader Rory McIlroy (71) were knotted in fifth at minus-7.
