MLB: Arizona 6, Florida 5

PHOENIX, June 1 (UPI) -- A two-out bloop single to right by Justin Upton Wednesday brought home Willie Bloomquist in the ninth inning and gave Arizona a 6-5 victory over Florida.

The Marlins took a 4-0 lead, fell behind 5-4 heading into the ninth and tied it in the top half of the inning on a leadoff homer by John Buck.

Buck's home run came off J.J. Putz (1-1), who blew the save opportunity but wound up getting the win when the Diamondbacks scratched out a run in the bottom half of the inning.

Bloomquist reached on an infield single to open the ninth against Clay Hensley (0-2), who then injured his right shoulder while striking out Sean Burroughs. Burke Badenhop came on to relieve Hensley and got Ryan Roberts on a grounder to third.

Bloomquist hustled all the way from first to third on the groundout by Roberts and slid in just ahead of the tag. After Kelly Johnson drew a walk, Upton delivered his single on a 2-0 pitch.

Roberts hit a two-run homer during a three-run sixth to begin the Arizona comeback and the Diamondbacks eventually took a 5-4 lead on an RBI double by Chris Young in the eighth.

It was the 17th time this season the Diamondbacks have come from behind to win, most in the majors. Arizona has captured 16 of its last 19 games.
