Uribe's 66 takes LPGA Brazil Cup title

RIO DE JANEIRO, May 29 (UPI) -- Mariajo Uribe carded a 6-under 66 Sunday, posting a one-stroke victory over Lindsey Wright for the title of the HSBC LPGA Brazil Cup.

Uribe ended at 9-under 135 in the two-round unofficial event on the LPGA Tour. The win was a measure of revenge for her after she lost a six-hole playoff to Meaghan Francella in last year's event.

Uribe picked up seven birdies and bypassed first-round leader Heather Bowie Young, who stumbled to an even-par 72 and finished tied for fourth with Sarah Jane Smith (68) at minus-6.

Wright (68) claimed sole possession of second place at 8-under, while Maria Hjorth (67) finished third at 7-under.
