SEATTLE, May 29 (UPI) -- Adam Kennedy's bloop single in the 12th inning drove in the game-winning run Saturday and Seattle stayed hot with a 5-4 win over the New York Yankees.
Justin Smoak collected a one-out single and went to third on Jack Cust's double down the left-field line off Yankees closer Mariano Rivera (1-1) in the bottom of the 12th.
After Luis Rodriguez came in to run for Smoak, Kennedy lofted a short fly that fell in front of center fielder Curtis Granderson, allowing Rodriguez to score with the game-winner.
The Mariners clinched their three-game series with the Yankees and moved above .500 (26-25) with their ninth win in 10 games.
David Pauley (4-0) earned the victory with two scoreless innings of relief.
Seattle's Miguel Olivo went 3-for-5 with three RBI before leaving the game with cuts to his face sustained while diving into first base on an infield single in the 11th.
Mark Teixeira hit a two-run home run and Robinson Cano went 3-for-5 with a solo shot for New York.
