IRVING, Texas, May 29 (UPI) -- Keegan Bradley's par on the first playoff hole Sunday provided the difference in his win over Ryan Palmer for the title of the Byron Nelson Championship.
Bradley needed the extra hole to collect his first career PGA victory.
He fired a 2-under 68 to finish regulation at 3-under 277, but he was joined there by Palmer, who forced a playoff after rolling in a 6-foot birdie putt on the last hole -- one of just two on the day for him.
Palmer hooked his ball into the water on the second shot of the playoff hole while Bradley chipped to inside 3 feet of the pin from the left rough on his own approach.
He then drained the putt for par and the victory in a round buffeted by strong winds at the TPC-Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.
Ryuji Imada (1-over 71) and Joe Ogilvie (70) finished in a third-place tie at 2-under 278.
Jason Day (67) grabbed sole possession of fifth one shot further back at minus-1.
