Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 28 (UPI) -- Luke Rodgers' goal at the 34-minute mark erased a 1-0 deficit Saturday and handed the New York Red Bulls a 1-1 draw with Vancouver.
The Red Bulls (5-2-5) found themselves down 1-0 in the first half when Eric Hassli scored in the 24th minute. Hassli found the lower-right corner on a penalty kick, beating Greg Sutton even though the goalie guessed correctly.
But 10 minutes later Rodgers got the equalizer, deftly redirecting a cross from Jan Gunnar Solli past Jay Nolly and into the net.
New York, still seeking its first win in May, was again playing without Thierry Henry, who is out with a knee problem.
Expansion Vancouver (1-5-6), meanwhile, remained winless since its March 19 MLS debut.
