TORONTO, May 26 (UPI) -- Alex Rios and Gordon Beckham scored ninth-inning unearned runs on a fielding error Thursday, giving the Chicago White Sox a 3-1 win over Toronto.

Toronto reliever Mark Rzepczynski (2-1) suffered the loss after the Blue Jays committed two infield miscues in the ninth.

Chicago, attempting to fight its way back from a slow start to the season, has won seven of its last 10.

Alex Rios reached in a 1-1 game to start the Chicago ninth when Toronto third baseman John McDonald committed a throwing error. The next two batters struck out but Rios moved to third on a wild pitch and Beckham was hit by a pitch and then stole second.

Juan Pierre next hit a grounder to first baseman Juan Rivera, who threw the ball away for an error that allowed both runners to score.

The Toronto mistakes handed the victory to Jesse Crain (2-1), who recorded the third out in the bottom of the eighth.

Sergio Sanchez allowed a one-out walk in the ninth before picking up his eighth save.
