MLS: Colorado 2, New York 2 (tie)

HARRISON, N.J., May 25 (UPI) -- Luke Rodgers ended a flurry of scoring in the 33rd minute Wednesday and lifted the New York Red Bulls into a 2-2 tie with Colorado.

All four goals came in a span of 6 minutes, with both the Colorado tallies coming from Jeff Larentowicz.

New York (4-2-5) has tied three of its last four games and lost the other. The point from Wednesday's tie, however, lifted New York into a first-place deadlock with Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference.

Colorado (4-3-5) has played in four straight ties.

Colorado was awarded a penalty kick in the 27th minute although it appeared striker Andre Akpan was taken down just outside the area. Larentowicz took the penalty kick and it was blocked, but he quickly gathered in the rebound and easily scored.

Thierry Henry soon tied it with his sixth goal of the season, and Larentowicz then produced a goal on a free kick.

Rodgers beat Matt Pickens for the equalizer after Pickens came off his line in an attempt to defend the shot.
