MLB: St. Louis 3, San Diego 2 (11 innings)

SAN DIEGO, May 25 (UPI) -- Daniel Descalso drove in the game-winning run and five St. Louis pitchers allowed just two hits in 11 innings Tuesday in the Cardinals' 3-2 win over San Diego.

Descalso drove in the winning run for the second night in a row, and Miguel Batista (3-1) got the victory, giving up two walks over two innings. Eduardo Sanchez picked up his fifth save.

Starter Kyle McClellan gave up two runs on two hits and struck out four in six innings.

Descalso, who drove in the deciding run in the ninth inning Monday, sent a two-out ground ball off the glove of Orlando Hudson that brought in Allen Craig from second and gave the Cardinals their fourth straight win.

Ernesto Frieri (1-2) took the loss for the Padres, who surrendered 12 hits in the game.

The Padres took a 2-1 lead in the first inning on a two-run homer by Brad Hawpe, but were otherwise 0-4 with runners in scoring position.
