NEW YORK, May 25 (UPI) -- Andruw Jones bashed a pair of homers Wednesday, driving in four runs in the New York Yankees' 7-3 victory over Toronto.
Jones, who went 3-for-3, smacked a two-run shot on the second inning to give the Yanks a 3-0 lead and added another two-run bomb in the sixth as New York took the rubber match of a three-game series against Toronto.
Mark Teixeira also contributed a two-run homer and Curtis Granderson chipped in with two hits and an RBI for the Yanks, who notched their seventh win in nine games.
Freddy Garcia (3-4) earned the victory, yielding three runs on eight hits over 6 1/3 frames while issuing no walks and striking out four.
Toronto starter Jo-Jo Reyes (0-4) absorbed the loss, tying a major league record for most consecutive starts without a win at 28, matching a dubious mark set by Matt Keough of Oakland in 1978-79.
Reyes yielded five runs on five hits over three innings for the Blue Jays.
Eric Thames collected a pair of hits and an RBI for Toronto.
