MILWAUKEE, May 25 (UPI) -- Jonathan Lucroy's two-run single in the eighth inning proved decisive Tuesday, handing the Milwaukee Brewers a 7-6 come-from-behind win over Washington.

Milwaukee was down 6-3 late in the game but scored twice in the seventh and twice more in the eighth, rallying for a victory and clinching a three-game series against the Nationals.

Rickie Weeks put the Brewers on the comeback trail in the seventh, hammering a 1-1 pitch from Tyler Clippard into the second deck in left with Craig Counsell aboard.

In the next frame, Casey McGehee and pinch-hitter Brandon Boggs drew walks from Henry Rodriguez (1-1). Lucroy then sliced a pitch that landed on the right-field foul line, scoring McGehee easily.

Boggs appeared be out at the plate on the throw from Nationals right fielder Jayson Werth, but catcher Wilson Ramos couldn't hang onto the ball and the Brewers took the lead.

John Axford made the advantage hold up with a scoreless ninth, racking up his 13th save. Mike McClendon earned the win with two innings of shutout relief.

Michael Morse had a grand slam homer among his three hits for the Nats.
