PHILADELPHIA, May 23 (UPI) -- Jimmy Rollins belted a three-run homer to cap a big third inning Monday and the Philadelphia Phillies cruised to a 10-3 win over slumping Cincinnati.
Rollins' blast came after John Mayberry had driven in two runs with a single and Raul Ibanez and pitcher Cole Hamels also notched RBI hits, as the Phils exploded for seven runs, extending their lead to 9-0.
Ibanez and Placido Polanco homered and drove in a pair of runs each while Carlos Ruiz went 3-for-3 with a run scored for first-place Philadelphia, which took the first of a four-game series with the Reds.
Hamels (6-2) earned the victory, yielding three runs on five hits over six frames, allowing two walks and fanning four.
Bronson Arroyo (3-5) was lit up for nine runs on 10 hits in a 2 2/3-inning start for Cincinnati, which dropped its sixth consecutive game overall and ninth straight in Philadelphia.
Jay Bruce lashed a three-run homer for the Reds.
