SAN FRANCISCO, May 22 (UPI) -- Emmanuel Burriss delivered an RBI single in the 11th inning Sunday, lifting the San Francisco Giants to a 5-4 win over Oakland and a series sweep.
Pinch-hitter Darren Ford hit a one-out single off Brian Fuentes (1-6) and stole second base. After Buster Posey was intentionally walked, Burriss lined a sharp hit to right and Ford slid home under the tag of Athletics catcher Kurt Suzuki with the game-winning run.
The hit made a winner of Sergio Romo (2-0), who hurled two innings of scoreless relief as the first-place Giants notched their 13th walk-off win of the season and swept three straight from their inter-league rivals.
Nate Schierholtz bashed a two-run homer in the eighth inning to tie the score and force extra frames.
Oakland starter Gio Gonzalez allowed only one earned run on eight hits over 6 2/3 innings.
Coco Crisp and Daric Barton each had an RBI for the A's.
