Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI

BOSTON, May 22 (UPI) -- Chicago Cubs outfielder Marlon Byrd was put on the 15-day disabled list Sunday after being struck in the face by a pitch.
Byrd sustained the injury in Saturday's game against Boston when Red Sox starter Alfredo Aceves threw a high pitch that struck him under the left eye.
The Cubs said Byrd was hospitalized for observation and was diagnosed with multiple facial fractures. The right-handed hitter was later released and will be evaluated in Chicago throughout the week.
Byrd was hitting .308 with three homers and 11 RBI for the Cubs this season.
The team recalled pitcher Justin Berg from Class AAA Iowa to take Byrd's spot on the roster.
