SAN FRANCISCO, May 21 (UPI) -- Tim Lincecum hurled a three-hit shutout Saturday and the San Francisco Giants blanked inter-league rival Oakland 3-0.
Lincecum (4-4) notched his fifth career shutout, issuing no walks while striking out six in the 133-pitch gem. After allowing a two-out single to Ryan Sweeney in the first inning, the Giants' ace set down 21 straight A's batters.
No Oakland runner reached second base until the ninth, when Coco Crisp singled and moved to second on fielder's indifference.
Buster Posey, Cody Ross and Miguel Tejada drove in runs for the first-place Giants, who have held the A's to a total of one run while taking the first two contests in their three-game series.
Brett Anderson (2-4) lasted five innings, yielding one run on five hits over five frames for the A's, who lost their fourth straight.
